After breakfast I went down to the Archives for a couple of hours

It turns out that the person who was hired to be the Golden Centre Santa over Christmas only lasted for a couple of days. While he comes across as very good in interviews he suffers from severe depressions which means he can’t hold down jobs for extended periods.

Came home for lunch and to do some time on the Australian store. Nearly through my price check. Jumpgate has sent me the most recent price list we have from Datawell. It was in an email that came a month ago and the spread sheet is dated to the end of October. I had some trouble opening it as Bagend thought it could be infectuous.

When Joe had come home we went down the hill to the supermarket. One of the check-out girls, Erin, identified herself as the daughter of Heather Kennedy whom I have traveled down to Invercargill with. As Heather knows my mother that makes her almost family. What a horrible thought for both of us!

New friday night competition show is an anglo-american one where international teams compete with souped-up vehicles. Losers get to watch their vehicle go into the furnace. In the first episode teams from Britain and the US got to watch the little guys from Chile go through to the next level which was rather fun.

The characters are beginning to gel on Fastlane. The white guy has this annoying habit of sympathy with the devil, even though the bad guys, and some good guys, always get their come-uppance. One would think that he would learn already! The team leader, a woman, is proving nice to watch in action. Fastlane, along with Farscape and Stargate belongs to the “ah-ay”-titled fantasy shows.

Stargate itself involved a lead character mysteriously turning into a teen-aged boy. It was rather neat as the younger actor kept the mannerisms of the older one. The stoyr was resolved with both actors co-existing. I would like to see the younger version returning in a later episode but I don’t think it will happen.

End of day.
