Long Live King Emrys!

Latest edition discovered on the IBWiki is a Kemrese king who is a cross between Henry VIII and Bluebeard.

Discovered that I have Excel on my computer. This is proving very helpful for the Archives assignment I have to submit. It is proving to be a less painful software than my luddite soul feared.

If you see this on your flist, quote Shakespeare.

Thanks southern Dave.

Fortunately I think Gertrude’s description of the death of Ophelia is one of the most poetic narratives I ever heard:

There a willow grows askant the brook,
That shows his hoar leaves in the glassy stream:
Therewith fantastic garlands did she make
Of cornflowers, nettles, daisies, and long purples,
That liberal shepherds give a grosser name,
But our cold maids do dead men’s fingers call them.
There on the pendent boughs her crownet weeds,
Clamb’ring to hang, an envious sliver broke,
When down her weedy trophies and herself
Fell in the weeping brook. Her clothes spread wide,
And mermaidlike awhile they bore her up,
Which time she chanted snatches of old lauds,
As one incapable of her own distress,
Or like a creature native and indued
Unto that element. But long it could not be
Till her garments, heavy with their drink,
Pulled the poor wretch from her melodious lay
To muddy death.

“The face of the Countess showed nothing, but once she drew the corner of the sheet up a little further over Fuchsia’s shoulder, with an infinite gentleness, as though she feared her child might feel the cold and so must take the risk of waking her.” (Gormenghast)

New Zealand, the way you wanted it

NZ Jesusland.

Note, blue is the colour for Republica, red for the pinkos. I understand that in the election on the north Island Continent last year it was the other way around.

Who did I vote for?

An engineer considers the energy policies put forward by the New Zealand political parties this election and gives his vote to the Greens.

Yes, but who? The Unitarian Jihad or Neo-Cons?

“Your death will be by bombing (80%). You will probably be an innocent bystander, not doing anything wrong and not a person who was targeted at, just in the wrong place at the wrong time.”

In New Zealand?! Student prank or industrial accident perhaps. Unless we hit a major political wonk. It’s unlikely that I will ever travel overseas.

How will you die?

I didn’t vote for him…
