Last weekend Tao was behaving oddly. She was mewing piteously and rubbing her face with her forepaws. When I examined her I discovered that she had managed to push her flea collar over her lower jaw so she couldn’t close her mouth. I attempted to pull the collar over her head. It wouldn’t budge and I was scratched for my efforts. I tried cutting it off with scissors. Eventually I chased her around the house and pushed the collar back around her neck. Later in the day I undid the collar and removed it from around her neck. It is an old collar. Underneath it has worn at her fur and left patches of bare skin around her neck.
